Skyhawks struggled to get their offense going on Tuesday

In the first inning, Sauk Valley Community College Skyhawks got their offense started when Jenna Johnson grounded out, scoring one run.

In the top of the second inning, Highland Community College Cougars tied things up at one when Shiane Boyer singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Cougars pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning. In the fourth Boyer drew a walk, scoring one run.

Payton Yanes was in the circle for Sauk Valley Community College Skyhawks. Yanes went six innings, allowing eight runs on 13 hits and striking out four. Olivia Edmondson threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. 

Sauk Valley Community College Skyhawks tallied ten hits on the day. Madison Craft and Payton Johnson all managed multiple hits for Sauk Valley Community College. Craft led the Skyhawks with four hits in four at bats.

Highland Community College Cougars collected 14 hits. Abby Smith, Kierra Schulz, Boyer, Emma Kinney, and Riley Kleckler all collected multiple hits for Highland. Smith went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the Cougars in hits.

Highland Community College Cougars Runs Away With Early Lead In Victory

Sauk Valley Community College Skyhawks watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 4-2 loss to Highland Community College Cougars on Tuesday. Highland Community College Cougars scored on a groundout by Maddy Ruud and a single by Tia Clark in the first inning.

In the first inning, Highland Community College Cougars got their offense started. Ruud grounded out, scoring one run.

Clark was on the rubber for Highland. The pitcher allowed five hits and two runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out one.
